Interested In Helping Other People? How To Become A Coach Or A Mentor? (Sharing Kev's Experiences)

This blog post is going to share with you the biggest tips and biggest lessons which Kev has learned over the last 7 years, being a coach and mentor to other people, and having the privilege to work with individuals, groups of people who have looked to Kev to achieve the goals in their lives. If you are currently thinking that you want to become a coach, or you would love to be a mentor to people, and if you have something in you which is telling you that you want to support people and that you want to make a difference, if you love contributing, and you love making an impact, then I can ensure you, one of the most fulfilling aspects of what Kev has the pleasure in doing is not just to be a mentor and coach of his business, but to also have the pleasure of being able to speak to individuals and help them achieve the goals in their lives. 

How to Offer Yourself As A Coach

First and foremost, what Kev did to be able to offer himself as a coach, every early on Kev built his business - he built a result for himself, and he was able to quit his job, build his team, systemise his operations, and get into his own warehouse. This is what Kev was teaching, however, that is not saying that you must do the same. Ultimately, being a mentor and coach just means that you have to be one step ahead, that you are maybe just a few steps ahead. You may have just experienced more. So therefore, they're looking at you for help. Kev started creating different YouTube videos and different pieces of content online to share his thoughts. He would create videos on how he started his business, how he made his first sale, how he recruited his first virtual assistant, getting into the warehouse, how to implement systems into your business and so much more. So, coaching and mentorship is all contribution focused. One thing Kev recommends is providing as much value as you possibly can for free. Kev started creating YouTube videos, and he started to get comments asking questions, so then Kev decided to start an Ask Kev Series, answer specific questions in Facebook groups and on his Instagram story. Then, Kev created a meeting which you can schedule with him for completely free. I recommend you start to do something similar, because it brings just so many fulfilling experiences. 

Charging As A Coach

Kev's time started to get pulled, and as much as he would love to be on calls all day, he just can't, because he has got to be there with his team, supporting his team, he has got partners and a company to run. So, what Kev started to do is create different frameworks, blueprints, and different things which people can consume, such as YouTube videos, ebooks, and much more. Kev made all of these things available, putting his knowledge into this, which then can be consumed by somebody else. 

Depending on where you are at, you may not have any time, or you might have a lot of time; but, as your time starts to get more and more scarce, it becomes more and more valuable. Therefore, you must start putting costs into your time. It is completely up to you what you charge, you can charge little or you can charge high - that is completely up to you. But ultimately, you can start to create a one-off call. Your job as a coach is to identify what the needs of an individual or group of people are.
